photoblog image Smile for the Riverdance

Smile for the Riverdance

This is the shot I meant to put up. Yet another one of the infamous Riverdance. It has become quite an attraction and families are bringing their deckchairs and picnics down to take advantage of the spectacle. Lots of photie being took as we have here. Presented in my experimental Bill Jacklin style.

I  have an exhibition of work at the Solaris Centre, South Prom Blackpool from the 2nd to 29th February 2008.

The exhibition is entitled Three Themes and will include a selection of my "Flora Photographica "images,  " Alternative Vision" an experimental series inspired by the artist Bill Jacklin  and "Streets of Blackpool" a documentary series showing bits of Blackpool you may have overlooked .

The gallery is open 9 - 5 weekdays and 10 - 5 at weekends. I hope to be present all day on Thursday, if you can pop in I would love to see you.

Could be a regular thing to boost winter trade,I'm sure they could get P&O to run a few ships up the beach to get them flocking, a few sponsored crates of BMW motorcycles wouldn't go amiss either, FatPete on Flickr saw this

Is that you and DC???????
Digiphotology: Hi Max, no I am afraid it is not me, could be Dave, seems to be spending maost of his time mooching around there. I went up to Rossall Point on Monday morning and nearly scared the s...t out of him when I peeped over the see wall to find him crouched over his tripod and shouted his name!

The salvage prospects are a bit slim, McVities chocolate wholemeal, which the gulls are relishing, bags of peat and recycled paper, no beemers I am afraid!
This really makes a change from all the "standard" shots of Riverdance, like the effect you have produced. I suppose I should really try to get up there with my camera before they salvage it.
Digiphotology: I was getting a bit bored with all the straight shots, so something a bit different. Would be great if you could get up this way and pop into the Solaris. I will be there on Thursday and Saturday pm all being well.

I think the boat will be there untill at least Saturday.

thought you had took some models to the beach, are you their all day saturday.
Digiphotology: You twigged! Probably the afternoon Mick, I think DC may pop in Sat pm.
There's something really macabre about this. Not your image but what your image depicts.
Digiphotology: It is funny you should say that Jose, I had that feeling when I took the picture. I am sure history is littered with such events and similar behaviour.
