photoblog image Skipool at Night

Skipool at Night

There is a full moon at the moment so I thought I would take a trip down to the river Wyre at Skipool Creek  this evening to take some big moon shotsover the river. As soon as I arrived a big black cloud rolled in a covered the moon. Not to be thwarted I took a few shots anyway. I have not shot many night time shots in Raw. I was amazed just how much light I could squeeze out of the images. It is hard to imagin this shot was taken at about 7.30pm and as blck as the hobs. Addmittedly there is a bit of noise and this is not the greatest image in the world. But it was an interesting experiment which I must repeat on an other evening.

I just love this. Ok maybe the boats a bit central but it doesn't matter. I love the colour and the grain and the whole atmosphere of this shot.
Digiphotology: You are being kind to me Bill but I appreciate it.
Noise..what noise, great work dragging this from the gloomy depths.
Digiphotology: I can recommend Spec-Savers Max!
Thank you for this -- you have inspired me to experiment similarly.
Digiphotology: That is so good to hear Elizabeth, best of luck.

Can't believe thia was at 7.30pm the other night!

I like grain.
Digiphotology: Hi Jose. The power of Raw files, you can turn night into day. The grain is really noise of course but pleasant as you say. The result reminds me of Fuji 1600 film.
This is more to my liking than the other one you posted. The tones in this are lovely. It has a marvelous tranquility about it.
